Don't like deer meat? Read now!

I have three recipes here.  The reason there are three is because I use three different ones...it all depends on what you are working with. I cook with ground deer sometimes, and other times I make deer steaks or deer roast. If you don't like deer you need to try these recipes and then try to tell me you don't like it. I promise that is just bull crap. I am the worst about "Oh you don't like deer?" Bet your botom dollar I am inviting you over for dinner and you are trying it my way....when you then go "Oh em gee, that food was amazing last night" that is when I go "oh yes it was, I believe that was the 10 point jd shot last season."

I know I am horrible but it's true!

Ground Deer:
1 cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of butter
1 pinch of garlic sal
1 pinch of chili powder.
Put all of that in the skillet.
Add ground meat (defrosted thoroughly)
Enjoy!

Deer Roast:
1 zesty Italian dressing packet
1 ranch dressing packet
1 brown gravy packet
1 1/2 cups  brown sugar
1/2 cup of butter
2 cups of water (at least enough to cover the meet)
Cut potatoes 5 times rule (in half, in half again, in half again, next half - half again, half again)
Add half a bag of baby carrots

Brown the roast on all sides...don't cook through just brown it on all sides.
Put in bottom of crock pot.
add all ingredients
then add the water.

Enjoy (4-12 hours in the crock pot.
4 hours on high, 12 on warm.

Flour and 1 cup of Worcestershire sauce mixed with a few scoops of liquid makes the most amazing gravy to go with it.

Deer Steaks:
Steaks
1 zesty Italian dressing packet
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup (per steak) soy sauce
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (per every two steaks)
1/4 cup olive oil

Let these marinate for 12 hours if possible.
If you can only do it for a few hours please make sure it's in the coldest drawer of the refrigerator.

Throw on the grill.

I do not do well with getting everything at the greatest price...but you should totally head on over to Super Frugal Stephanie to find great deals and coupons!

Enjoy

Wax 101

So, I hear a lot of my customers say that they are tired of getting wax on their walls when they try to change the wax out of their warmers. I just want you to know that you are DOING it WRONG!! You should never have to move the warmer while wax is melted. All you need is cotton balls. Yes, I said COTTON BALLS!

Plug in = 1 cotton ball
Mid Size = 2 cotton balls
Full Size - 3 cotton balls

I do believe the picture is self explanatory...

Impressing your customers...two!

I don't care what business you are running I think you should make it seem like you are presenting the customer with a gift. It is a big ordeal to them how you treat them. Take the time to put a coupon in the bag, put a bow or name tag on it. A few days after they have received their order send them a thank you card. I also want you to write it down on a small purse size calender their name on the day that you delivered. In my case you then figure up how long their wax should last... figure up how many days that is from their order. Write their name on that day in a different color or highlight (if you are like me you have a color key) Eventually you will have someone to contact everyday of the year and they will appreciate that you remembered their favorites and that they should be almost out.
To keep from messing up if I know they are ordering a gift I mark it as a gift and make sure to contact them and ask them if the person that they got the gift for enjoyed it. Also, tell them that you are mailing them a coupon and a coupon for the person that got the gift for.

This will keep your customers happy and coming back. If a customer has ordered more than once ask them to host a party the following time they are to be contacted. If a customer has ordered enough items that they would have "Paid" for their start kit in comission profit ask them to join your team. This gives you the outlook or point of view that they would have already made their starter kit money back. Just off their own orders. Not including any orders they get from friends or family.

I will add some pictures of my supplies and how I deliver my orders later today. If you have your ways please let me know so that I can share them.

One Hundred No's!

So it has been brought to my attention tonight that some people still don't know about the 100 No's!
It is a list of 100 people to tell you NO! The only difference between a Super Star Director and you is she has had more No's! You make a list of 100 names...ask them to host a party or to buy! :)
I use this for fundraisers as well!

I do this every month! : )

Flower Pen Vase!

I have a best friend Mer Nix who inspired me to make these. She works in an insurance office and was saying she wanted something to make her smile. So I got a vase and those "water beads" you can get both of these at Walmart in the fake flower section. they cost me $3.97 and then I got pens from walmart in the clearance section they were 12 for .70 so I got 6 packages. Each pen cost me .04!!!!!!
Then made flowers just like I did for the magnets! (See pictures below! These are pretty sel explanatory because of the step by step with the magnets.
When you do this project you will also need the green tape that you can get in the fake flower section as well. If you need better instructions let me know via email.

Also, remember to send pictures if you do this craft! :)

Brought to my attention that instead of the pink & purple water beads I used you can use COFFEE beans which can be doubled for them to smell your testers and such! :)

Don't have a car?? You can still be successful!

Don't have a car? Need sales?

I have a few people on my team who don't always have access to a car but still need a way to reach new customers other than facebook, telephone, usps, and etc. So with them in mind I came up with another idea and it was while I was driving go figure.!

You make a Neighbor Sack. This Neighbor Sack will have a letter from you, a few samples, two catalogs, two business cards, a flower magnent, a pen, and a FREE gift (the scent circle)!
You will make this sack look like it is a present then go door to door in your neighborhood or any neighborhood within walking distance and deliver these! This is something that you can do for less than $10 and you will get a lot of customers! I did this when I first started selling. Neighbors know that when they come over to get something majority of the time I either have it or can have it to them in a few days!

I hope this helps some people.

Be a smartie host a party!

I love these! I use these for bag stuffer. You know for those customers who are always buying and you want to go "hint hint" host a party! :) I also use them at Easter and Halloween! It's so much fun and it's a hit.

I always think at the least a mom might throw it in her purse...and later need a candy for her child...then she will know again she should host a party.

I don't know how many of you were at convention this year. However, whether you were or weren't...even if you are with a different company this can pertain to you. It isn't what our job is about. So, take a minute to grab a drink and cheese slice, relax and watch this movie. It is not only hilarious but it is true.

Impressing your customers...one!

How many of you take the time to send your customers a thank you card or email?
How many of you take the time to send your customers a tracking number once it's posted?

Well, I do and guess what it is been noticed. I have customers who thank me for that. I am doing a few fundraisers right now and I have received a few NEW customers for just being knowledgable of my product and staying in contact with them.

Every day I check my workstation what seems like a million times per day!!! I always watch for the "shipped" and I send them an email! However I don't get along with the email system in our workstation so I always just copy and paste it into my regular email.
Below is what I usually send as my "Thank you email"
**********************************************************************************

Hi Kellie,
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your business! I know that you already got an automated email about your order but I wanted to send you a personal thank you from my heart. I hope you got everything you wanted! I will be sending you another email once the item has been shipped. Mini Testers for Basket Parties!

When I am sending out a basket party I send one or two from every category and my favorites or best sellers. This keeps them in a small bag for the hostess to carry that fits in her purse. This probably cost less than $1 at Dollar Tree. I also of course put one of my labels on the front and/or back of the pencil (ehhm tester) holder! :)
This is the bag I use. It is a thirty one thermal zipper pouch. It has zipper closure, laminated interior. Approx 9"H X 12.25"W X 2.5"D. It perfectly holds catalogs, order forms, Testers, calculator, business cards, and pens. (Oh and usually some samples)

It can be found here or here. It cost $15 comes in 5 different patterns and $7 for personalization.
I figured if it always had my name on it they wouldn't want to keep it or steal it. I absolutely love how I do my basket parties because they have been successful this way. Please feel free to contact me to talk about basket parties and catalog parties. I usually put a mini pouch in too for them to keep checks, and cash in.

MODGE PODGE!

I used modge podge in a ton of my projects and I always cringed at the price I was having to pay so I started experimenting with homemade versions. oh my gee is it simple or what?!

1 bottle of elmers glue mixed with 3/4 the same bottle full of water. mix together in a cute glass jar from hobby lobby (don't forget the 40% off coupon)!

That is all it takes. If it is a little too thick make sure that you add a little water...the goal is to not get too much water in the mixture.

XO

LO the HCB

FLOWER MAGNETS!

Also, you will need a hot glue gun that I didn't get in the picture.
The flowers are cheap dollar tree flowers. I sometimes will splurge and get the really really bright colored daisies from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon! The pebbles are also from Dollar Tree and you need to make sure that you get the wide fat ones (I will post a better picture when it comes to them). Glue that will dry clear. Scissors might be needed. The magnets are from Walmart, some of them can be found at Dollar Tree but the one I wen to didn't so I just grabbed them when I was grocery shopping later that day. Again, don't forget a hot glue gun and sticks.

You can use a template that I will attach as soon as I get it in my email box. I am in a hurry with this batch and the color ink cartridge decided to go capute so I used regular black in and regular paper.
I typed my name and telephone in size 10 comic sans font. I then cut them by hand (more time consuming but I am pretty fast so it works really well!) I also feel that it makes them look "for sure home made" if you know what I mean! :)

So the first step is to put the pebble and paper together. Whether you cut it out like I did for this one, use a template, and etc. You take the paper and put a glue that will dry clear over it. You then put it on the FLAT surface of the pebble. This is the first step so that it can dry while you are working on step two. Also, if you do it the way I did on this one and don't want the space between the white to show, cut a circle of color construction paper and slap it behind there.

Step two & three is to take the flower and "de face" them. What I mean by de face them is: take the center of the flower and the (normally green) backing off the flowers. I like to have COLOR in my flowers so I usually alternate each layer (I do three layers, you can do four if you like even #'s). As you will see in the pictures below here I alternated a pink, white, pink.
You will then put hot glue on the first pink flower. You apply the hot glue in the center, I will advise you to just put a dot in the middle just bigger than the hole that is in the middle of the flower. You then take the white flower and press its center into the glue of the pink flower. Repeat with the next Pink LAYER (ha like our new LAYERS). Repeat once more if you are using four layers rather than three like me.

Step four is to take the pebble and apply it to the center of the flower. You put hot glue in the center of the top layer. Then put the pebble on top of that. Press tight for a few seconds.

Step five is to apply the magnet. You should take the magnet and apply some hot glue to the adhesive side of the magnet. Then press the flower on to it. You are almost finished at this point. Yay!!!

Step six is to put on your fridge or do as I do and put one in every order that you deliver. When you deliver to the hostess say I also put in a FREE flower magnent just to let you know I appreciate your business and so that you can always have my number without looking further than your icebox. :)

Oh! and don't forget to REPEAT!

Thanks for following my silly craft blog. Please comment and let me know how yours turn out! Also, if you make any flowers please snap a picture and send it to okcowgirlscents@gmail.com and they will get added to the page for use in this post. I know everyone has a different color style, business, etc and we want to share it with the world.

**
Also, While making my latest batch I realized that using modge podge and a brush was much easier than stick glue.
You just brush across the back side of the pebble once, attach paper and it's done. I made 75 tonight. :)

** see recipe for modge podge much cheaper than buying the real deal.

Potty Game!!

Yes!  I said that!
If you are finding yourself in a stand still without customers play the Potty Game. I came up with this after reading some other consultants posts and suggestions. You will need a few items to play.
Items you will need:
  • Mini catalogs
  • recruits $99 stickers
  • sharpie
  • mini ziplok bag
  • larger ziplok bag
This is how you prepare for the Potty Game.
First step is to write on each mini catalog. If you are organized and on top of things like I am most of the time you just use address labels. Make sure that the address lable includes the following before putting it on the mini catalog. (You put the sticker in the little blue area.)
  • Your Name
  • Your Website
  • Your Phone Number
  • You have WON, contact me ASAP!
Second step is to cut all of your stickers into their individual squares.
Third step is to put those stickers into the mini ziploc bag.
Fourth step is to put the mini catalogs and the mini ziploc bag into a larger ziploc bag.
Fifth step is to put the larger ziploc bag into your purse, mine is a KATIE CROSS BODY!

Sixth step is to go to the bathroom everywhere you go! Okay maybe not everywhere you go but when you go, SCENTSITIZE (or whatever your business is) and play the potty game!

Seventh step is a little awkward but I will try to keep it polite. While you are attending to your business reach into your purse pull out your large ziplok bag.

Eighth step is to take one mini catalog and one recruit sticker out. Place majority of the sticker on the mini catalog at the top and with the little bit of sticky part that is left post it somewhere in the stall. I literally do NOT use but maybe a sliver of sticky part to attach it to a place on the stall, I am not trying to be a "bathroom stall de facer" so I use as little sticky as possible.

Ninth step is to wait.

Tenth step is once the customer contacts you about winning, you decide what your prize shall be to them. I opt between free shipping, free "something in my stock",  etc.

Eleventh step is to come back to this blog and tell us all about your new customer you got playing the POTTY GAME!!! Note: you might be jumping with joy as you are hurrying over to tell us about it.

Now, I like to hear success stories so please come back and tell me about them!

P.S. I got a $568 party via the potty game...it's worth it!!

White Chocolate Mocha

Now, if you know me or have been following me you know that I am a starbucks nut! I love starbucks! You also probably know that I moved an hour and a half from the nearest starbucks. That killed me...
So, I was on the hunt for something that tasted the same but could be made at home....and I did it!

Ingredients:
white chocolate chips
2 cups milk
8 cups of coffee ( I do a strong blend of dark roast)

How to make it?
Well there are two or three ways.

I do my keurig version and a whole pot of it version...

Keurig version:
velata warmer with white chocolate velata melting
1/2 cup of milk
1 k cup of your roast blend

turn your velata warmer on...
when chocolate is almost melted...
start your k cup...
when your coffee is done...
add two tablespoons of chocolate...
add 1/2 cup of milk...

Enjoy! I always enjoy it in a big shiny starbucks cup!

Whole pot version:
Start your coffee pot...
In a sauce pan melt together 1 whole bag of chocolate chips/white chocolate velata...
with two cups of milk...
slowly pour it into your coffee... enjoy in a big shiny cup!

Barbeque Cheddar Chicken Sandwiches

I had been looking on pinterest for alternatives to chicken sandwiches, well sandwiches in general. Well I couldn't find one that sounded great! So, I went to the kitchen and started pulling items out of the cabinets and drawers. This is what I came up with:

2 tablespoons of chili powder
2 tablespoons of garlic powder
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of pepper
2 cans of chicken
2 cups of shredded cheddar
1 cup of honey barbeque

Now, I am by far not the couponista and saverista but I have a great friend Super Frugal Stephanie who will get you the best deal out there! Make sure to like her page and tell her that Harmon County Bride sent you.

Now that you have the ingredients out and you have your utensils you are ready to go. Here is how you mix it:

put it all in a bowl and mix together well....

Yep that is all. Now we ate them cold and a few days later we ate them via the crock pot!! Whether you want them cold or hot they are amazing!!!! Literally!

Oh, and we also toasted two pieces of wheat bread then put the chicken mixture on them. We had ranch and bbq to dip in if we wanted. I actually ate it without dipping. (That never happens!)

What the blog is for?

Howdy guys! I am Lo the Harmon County Bride (HCB). I am starting my blog by request of my fellow independent consultants. I used to run a great blog that helped a lot of my friends & consultants. I then took a full time job and moved half way across the state of Oklahoma. No, literally I moved from one side to the other! It may not look like a huge state but oh it so is. I am not the best blogger out there but I do my job and I love it. I want to do things a little differently this go around. I want my followers to actually have a blog they can come to for anything. I am not just a consultant or a just HCB...I am a consultant, a chef, a postmaster, a blogger, a maid, a seamstress, a coach, a friend, a sister, a babysitter, a errand runner, delivery man, horse whisperer, dog groomer, grocery shopper, and so many more that I am probably forgetting. I want you to feel as if there is someone out there that completely understands how your life is going. So, I want your input.
What pages should my blog contain?

I have a few ideas but I want you guys, my followers to help me make this the best dang blog out there! I will list mine below but I really want you to follow the link and give your input too!
